Waxing Prep

Hair Length

Your hair should be grown out to at least a ¼ inch long, about the size of a grain of rice. This is typically about 2-3 weeks of grow out. If the hair is too short, the wax may have a hard time sticking to the hair and if it is too long, it can make the treatment a little uncomfy.

Exfoliate

Gently exfoliate the area you are getting waxed with a body scrub and a mitt 48 hours before your appointment. This gets rid of any dead skin cells that are clogging your pores. Exfoliation also helps to loosen any trapped hairs that could otherwise remain stubbornly attached during your treatment. It’s best to do it a couple of days before so that you don’t irritate your skin right before your wax.

How can I calm my skin?

You can apply aloe vera to the area that was waxed for a cool, soothing sensation. Aloe vera helps to rehydrate the skin and reduces the appearance of waxing bumps. Tea tree oil works as well, as it is an antibacterial. DO NOT use tea tree neat. Use a topical that contains tea tree.

3 days after your treatment

Gently exfoliate the waxed area to banish dead skin clogging cells and to avoid ingrown hairs.
